BetMGM And Denver Broncos Reach Deal For Betting Lounge At Mile High Stadium

After partnering with Betfred USA and FanDuel, the home of the Denver Broncos, Mile High Stadium, has made a deal with a third betting-related partner, BetMGM.

The Denver Post reported on Thursday that BetMGM will construct a luxury betting lounge that will be erected in the former location of the Tavern At Mile High near Gate 4 on the first level.

The Broncos have announced that they will not be seeking out any further gambling entity-related endorsements, making BetMGM’s proposed additions to the stadium the final component for Denver area NFL betting fanatics.

These developments occurred fairly quickly following the enactment of legal sports betting in Colorado on May 1 of this year.

The Centennial State is not tiptoeing into the waters of betting on sports, instead opting to jump in with both feet and embracing the opportunity to rake in the additional tax revenue that legal sportsbook operations will provide.

The Broncos are expecting the in-stadium operations to engage fans more directly, and inspire increased ticket-sales by enticing those that would typically spend Sunday afternoons wagering at offshore sportsbooks.

“I think the Broncos recognize that sports betting is going to be a big part of the landscape in Colorado and we, like the Broncos, think responsible sports betting is a way to increase fan engagement and deliver a terrific experience to their customers and our customers.”

Matt Prevost, BetMGM Chief Marketing Officer

BetMGM executives were anticipating the eagerness of Colorado-based entities’ willingness to engage with betting operations and had a plan in place well in advance of the May 1 sports betting start date.

The Broncos were drawn to BetMGM’s proposal due to their focus on high-end, luxury offerings that other major sports betting enterprises do not concentrate on.

The proposed 21+ betting lounge will offer alcoholic beverages via their full-service bar, live betting odds on large video displays, and a fleet of staff on-hand that can provide assistance for those using the BetMGM wagering app.

They also plan to roll out a betting game that is exclusive to the Broncos and Mile High, the “First Possession Payoff Game,” that will accept wagers on whether Denver can put points on the board during their first drive of the game.

The concept for this first-score betting game is sound, but opportunities to participate will dry up very early during the first quarter on most Sundays.

Hopefully, BetMGM has more unique betting games planned in time for the rollout that will allow for betting throughout the entire match. Also, the Broncos have been fairly inept on offense lately, so the game could backfire by pointing out ineffective play on the part of Denver.

Because Denver plays in the AFC West alongside the Las Vegas Raiders, who will play their home games in Nevada for the first time in 2020, BetMGM is arranging for travel packages that will transport Bronco fans to and from their annual contest in the newly constructed Allegiant Stadium.

Regardless, Broncos fans, and those who enjoy wagering on sports, have a lot to look forward to in the coming 2020 NFL season.
