The Titans Fire Brian Callahan – Is Mike McDaniel Next?

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel walking the sidelines

The Tennessee Titans fired Brian Callahan yesterday after a 1-5 start to his second season. His tenure as the Titans’ head coach ended with a disappointing 4-19 record. Hired in January 2024, Callahan struggled to improve a struggling team, finishing his first season with a 3-14 record and overseeing the drafting of quarterback Cam Ward. Offensive woes persisted, leading him to surrender play-calling duties in 2025.

Now that the first NFL head coach has been given his walking papers, online NFL sportsbooks are recalculating their betting odds for the next franchise leader to get the ax.

In the meantime, we’ve created our own betting odds based on prior NFL futures, the current landscape of the league after six weeks, and a multitude of other outlying factors.

Betting Odds For The Next NFL Coach To Get Fired

  • Mike McDaniel – Miami Dolphins EVEN
  • Aaron Glenn – New York Jets +300
  • Zac Taylor – Cincinnati Bengals +550
  • Kevin Stefanski – Cleveland Browns +900
  • Brian Daboll – New York Giants +1000

Mike McDaniel

Topping our list for the next coach to be on the outs is the Miami Dolphins’ Mike McDaniel. His time in South Florida is under intense scrutiny due to a disappointing 1-5 start to the 2025 season, marked by ongoing leadership and performance issues.

Despite early praise for innovative offensive strategies, McDaniel has struggled to maintain team discipline and accountability, with reports of players being late to meetings and internal dysfunction.

The Dolphins’ offense is inconsistent, the defense remains porous, and the team has lost nine straight games against winning opponents. Public criticism from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and former players further highlight concerns about McDaniel’s ability to lead the team back to competitiveness.

Aaron Glenn

Aaron Glenn, former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator and current New York Jets head coach, is facing increasing pressure after an 0-6 start. Rationale for his termination include poor game clock management (letting time expire before halftime without attempting to score) and ineffective offensive performance with only 82 yards gained in a recent game against Denver.

Glenn’s unwillingness to bench struggling quarterback Justin Fields despite poor play has also drawn scrutiny. With the Jets’ historic losing start, Glenn is widely considered to be on the hot seat, with his job security in serious jeopardy if the team’s struggles continue.

Zac Taylor

Zac Taylor could face firing due to the Cincinnati Bengals’ disappointing four-game slide following a 2-0 start. Since star quarterback Joe Burrow’s injury, the team has been outscored heavily and has exhibited a lack of competitiveness on the field.

Critics point to uninspired game plans and poor team effort. While some believe Taylor’s job is currently safe, ongoing poor performance and team morale issues could make his dismissal likely if the struggles continue.

We expected updated NFL prop bets for the next coach to be fired to appear soon – stay tuned.
