2025 Stanley Cup Finals Betting: Florida Panthers vs. Edmonton Oilers

The 2025 Stanley Cup Finals matchup is now set, with the Florida Panthers winning the Eastern Conference and the Edmonton Oilers representing the Western Conference.

The Oilers dominated the 1980s, winning all five of their Stanley Cup titles during that decade. Edmonton has ousted the Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Dallas Stars en route to the finals, two franchises that held the top spot in the Stanley Cup futures at different points during the season.

This will be the sixth trip to the NHL Finals for the Panthers, and it will be their second championship if they are the first to win four games in the series. Florida has eliminated their division mates, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tampa Bay Lightning, two teams that are no strangers to deep playoff runs.

Next Wednesday at 8 p.m., the puck drops for Game 1 on TNT, TruTV, or MAX. Online NHL sportsbooks are favoring the home-standing Oilers by the standard -1.5 goals in the puck line.

We’ve been tracking the NHL Playoff picture since January, and over the past three weeks, the projected champion has changed every few days. Our last four updates have featured the Stars, Oilers, Panthers, and then Oilers again as the most likely winner.

With the odds so close, there is the potential that the series could go to a deciding seventh game. If that is the case, Game 7 will take place in Edmonton, so we’re giving them the edge for this series.
