Week 1 XFL Betting Lines Debut In Advance Of Opening Weekend

XFL logo over players from all 8 teams

After a second hiatus, the XFL will return this weekend under new ownership. This time, the league has returned after COVID-19 caused their 2020 campaign to cease after 5 games.

The first incarnation of the XFL only lasted one complete season in 2000.

For seasons 1 and 2, there were plenty of opportunities for XFL betting at online sportsbooks. This year, XFL odds are slow to arrive at the betting boards.

We were able to find a couple of books with XFL futures, and thankfully, BetUS came through with betting lines for all four Week 1 games. We expect more XFL game lines to pop up between now and Saturday, but for now, here’s what we have.

The first XFL game of the 2023 season will kick off at 3:00 PM this Saturday.

Vegas Vipers @ Arlington Renegades

  • Point Spread: Vipers +2, Renegades -2.0
  • Over/Under: 39.5

These betting lines at BetUS do not feature moneyline odds at the moment. This is probably because of the uncertainty surrounding each XFL franchise and its rosters.

The Vipers moved from Tampa Bay to Las Vegas for the 2023 season. Arlington hasn’t moved cities but was known as the Dallas Renegades in 2020.

The Renegades are coached by Bob Stoops, who won National Championships while with the Oklahoma Sooners. Stoops is the only head coach that remains from the 2020 XFL season.

Closing out Saturday is a night game between the Orlando Guardians and Houston Roughnecks at 8:30 PM.

Orlando Guardians @ Houston Roughnecks

  • Point Spread: Pick ’em
  • Over/Under: 37.5

Houston was 5-0 and appeared poised to win the 2020 championship based on the odds for betting on the XFL Playoffs. Can they continue their hot streak with new players and coaching staff?

This is set as a pick ’em. That means the team you bet on just needs to win the game to win the wager.

Sunday’s first game of the day begins at 3:00 PM, pitting the St. Louis Battlehawks against the San Antonio Brahmas.

St. Louis Battlehawks @ San Antonio Brahmas

  • Point Spread: Battlehawks -2.5, Brahmas +2.5
  • Over/Under: 38.5

The Brahmas are head coached by former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver and Super Bowl Champion Hines Ward. San Antonio was actually a member of the now-folded AAF, the Alliance of American Football.

That particular region of Texas was an area that the new XFL ownership wanted to target. The acquisition makes sense, as San Antonio is a sports hotbed without a pro football presence.

At 8:00 PM, the final XFL game of Week 1 features the Seattle Sea Dragons traveling to face the Washinton D.C. Defenders.

Seattle Sea Dragons @ D.C. Defenders

  • Point Spread: Dragons +2.0, Defenders -2.0
  • Over/Under: 37.5

Readers will notice that these early spreads and over/under totals are incredibly modest. Again, this suggests apprehension on the oddsmakers’ part due to the lack of available data.

Bovada has XFL futures odds on the boards that suggest the BattleHawks will win the first XFL Championship in 23 years.

2023 XFL Championship Odds

  • St Louis Battlehawks +350
  • Seattle Sea Dragons +400
  • Arlington Renegades +400
  • Vegas Vipers +450
  • Orlando Guardians +500
  • San Antonio Brahmas +550
  • Houston Roughnecks +600
  • DC Defenders +650

We expect more XFL odds to drop soon at the sites included in our online sportsbook reviews. Stay tuned.
