Bryce Young Now Tops The NFL Draft Odds For Panthers’ First Overall Pick

The 2023 NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 27th at 8 PM, but online sportsbooks are already taking action on which players will be selected at the top of the first round.

Odds are posted at multiple NFL Draft betting sites, offering online gamblers a chance to shop the lines to earn the best payout possible.

The following comparison reveals the differentials in the moneyline odds for the first overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. As recently as two weeks ago, Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud was projected to come off the boards first for the Carolina Panthers.

With eight days to go until Draft Day, the odds at online NFL sportsbooks suggest that the Panthers will select the Alabama Crimson Tide’s Bryce Young as their franchise quarterback.

Carolina Panthers General Manager Scott Fitterer has not made any mention to Young or to the press that he intends to select Bryce next Thursday night. Oddsmakers could be basing these odds on the fact that Young canceled all remaining pro visits following his time in Carolina.

“That was a decision [Bryce Young] made on his own… This is a big decision for the organization. We don’t want to lock on to something early on just to decide that’s our guy. We want to keep this process open all the way through.”

Bettors that intend to place a wager on Young coming off the boards first should do so at Bovada, as his -1500 moneyline is 100 points better than BetUS and 500 better than BetOnline.

The second pick belongs to the Houston Texans, who could certainly use a quarterback. That said, the 2023 NFL Draft odds imply that Alabama outside linebacker Will Anderson is the most likely number two selection.

The above NFL prop bets differ in who they think Houston will select if it is not Anderson. For some reason, the odds project the third pick will be a quarterback, but each sportsbook believes it will be different QBs.

Are the above odds implying that the Arizona Cardinals are ready to move on from current starter Kyler Murray? Alternatively, the Cardinals could trade the pick away to another franchise desperate to secure a franchise quarterback in this year’s Draft.
