Troubles Mount For MrBeast: Crypto Scams, Lawsuits, And FBI Investigations

Popular online personality Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson has built an empire through a combination of unique creative content and philanthropy. Today, his YouTube channel has over 325 million subscribers.

An upcoming Amazon Prime series, Beast Games, is expected to debut later this year, and his culinary ventures (Feastables, Lunchly, MrBeast Burger) are expanding into global markets.

His ascension into becoming a household name has been swift, but now accusations are piling up against him and some of his team members.

Beast Games Lawsuit

Beast Games has yet to debut, but a group of contestants has already filed a class action lawsuit alleging several grievances. The accusations include failure to prevent sexual harassment, improper wages, emotional stress, and poor conditions.

Entertainment sportsbook sites are offering MrBeast prop bets for this civil suit that favor an out-of-court settlement or Donaldson being cleared as the most likely options.

MrBeast Court Case Outcome

  • Settles out of court +150
  • MrBeast cleared +200
  • Case dismissed +260
  • MrBeast found guilty +600

Approximately 95% of civil suits never reach trial, and this data is likely impacting the odds.

Problematic Chat Logs

Over the summer of 2024, allegations of grooming were levied at a former content creator on MrBeast’s channel, Kris Ava Tyson. These were centered around chat room messages that included inappropriate images and verbal content.

Tyson has resigned from MrBeast’s team, but some don’t feel that’s enough. YouTuber Rosanna Pansino has sent leaked work chat logs to the FBI that supposedly include evidence of a 20-year-old Tyson sending inappropriate messages to a 13-year-old.

The recipient of the messages has stated that Tyson “never did anything wrong and just made a few edgy jokes.” Pansino has shared a video on her YouTube channel that reveals the logs that she’s forwarded to the FBI.

The FBI has not commented on the situation at this time.

Cryptocurrency Scam

A new round of assertions suggests that MrBeast has profited in excess of $20 million through cryptocurrency by using his platform and status to influence the market. While public influence is a significant factor in crypto valuations, investigators are alleging that Donaldson and members of his team used insider trading tactics to secure gains.

This is referred to as a “pump and dump” scheme where celebrity endorsements inflate the value of a coin, and the holders sell it off. Once sold, the altcoin loses most of its value within months.

MrBeast has also posted his Ethereum address in the past, allowing dedicated followers to link their wallets. These online investigations are independent and do not imply guilt, nor do they suggest that a formal investigation is forthcoming.

Donaldson has yet to issue a statement in response.
