NFL Preseason Odds For Hall Of Fame Game Favor Steelers In Battle Of Backups

NFL HOF Game Odds 2021-22
  • 2021 NFL Preseason Kicks Off With Pittsburgh vs. Dallas
  • Hall Of Fame Game Begins At 8:00 PM On Fox
  • Early NFL Betting Lines Favor Pittsburgh By 1.5 Points

Tomorrow night’s Hall of Fame Game ushers in the 2021 NFL preseason and also kicks off a weekend’s worth of enshrinement-related events in Canton, Ohio.

Despite these games being exhibition contests, online sportsbook sites have rolled out game lines for betting on the NFL that includes tomorrow night’s HOF Game as well as the entire first week of the preseason.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Point Spread: Steelers -1.5
  • Moneyline: Cowboys +105, Steelers -125
  • Over/Under: 33.0

For pro football gamblers that are looking to bet on the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Dallas Cowboys in tomorrow night’s Hall of Fame game can do so at any of the online sportsbooks that we review and recommend here at Sports Betting Legal, indicating that interest is high for laying some action on these preseason games.

A report from WKBN 27 indicates that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will not suit up for tomorrow night’s game, allow for Mason Rudolph out of Oklahoma State to get the start.

Washington Football Team castoff Dwayne Haskins is expected to play mop-up duty for the Steelers, with Joshua Hobbs getting some snaps in as well.

Betting on the Dallas Cowboys should be tempting to some considering that Big Ben will not get the start at QB for PIT, but will Dak Prescott be under center for Big D?

KXAN is reporting that Prescott has a strained shoulder and will not play for Dallas, allowing for Garrett Gilbert, Ben DiNucci, and Cooper Rush to share the load at quarterback. This certainly explains the rationale that oddsmakers have used to favor Pittsburgh by 1.5 points, but in the estimation of our staff, this entire game is a crapshoot and could result in a blowout in either direction.

A quick glance at the Super Bowl 56 futures and the Dallas Cowboys appear among the top 14 teams in contention, indicating that they have a pretty good shot at qualifying for the 2021-22 NFL Playoffs.

The same cannot be said for the Pittsburgh Steelers as they are currently featured as the 20th most likely team to win Super Bowl LVI, suggesting that they will be on the outside looking in when the NFL postseason begins.

This does not, however, indicate that Dallas is superior to Pittsburgh. The real reason that the Cowboys are favored over the Steelers in the overall SB 56 futures odds is that Dallas competes in the NFC East Division, inarguably the worst in professional football.

Dallas has a much easier route to the NFL Playoffs than Pittsburgh, as the latter plays in the AFC North which features stiff competition from the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, and the Cincinnati Bengals who are expecting second-year quarterback Joe Burrows to return this season.

Tune in tomorrow night to watch the NFL’s Hall of Fame Game on FOX and be sure to get your bets in early because we’re not sure if the lines will go live for preseason games upon kickoff.
