49ers Are 1-Point Favorites Over Chiefs For Super Bowl 58

Brock Purdy of the 49ers hoisting the AFC Championship Trophy

The Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers are the final two teams left standing after the 2023-24 NFL Playoffs and will face each other on February 11th in Super Bowl LVIII.

This will be a rematch of Super Bowl LIV, where the Chiefs defeated the 49ers by a final score of 31-20. The situation is quite different for this go-round, however.

Jimmy Garoppolo is no longer under center for the 49ers. In his place is second-year phenom Brock Purdy, who is leading the odds for betting on the Super Bowl MVP winner at the moment.

Also different for San Francisco is the offensive presence of running back Christian McCaffrey. He’s currently the most dominant force at the RB position in the league, and he’s sure to get more touches than usual, as there’s only one contest left on the schedule.

The Chiefs are also boasting a different look than when they won SB LIV. Gone is stud wide receiver Tyreek Hill who used to stretch defenses.

Patrick Mahomes spreads the ball out a lot more these days but still leans on tight end Travis Kelce in the clutch.

KC’s defensive unit is much improved this season, carrying the team in tough games where points are hard to come by for the Chiefs offense.

The odds for betting on the 49ers place them as an early 1-point favorite, suggesting that the game could go either way.

Super Bowl LVIII Betting Line

Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers

  • Super Bowl 58 Point Spread: 49ers -1.0, Chiefs +1.0
  • Super Bowl LVIII Moneyline: 49ers -110, Chiefs EVEN
  • Super Bowl Over/Under: 47.5

While the 49ers are favored to win, the Super Bowl moneyline will pay out dollar-for-dollar when betting on the Chiefs to win.

When we combine the point spread with the over-under total, it paints the following picture regarding the results of Super Bowl 58.

Super Bowl 58 Projected Final Score

San Francisco 49ers – 24
Kansas City Chiefs – 23

There’s more at stake for the 49ers than earning a Lombardi Trophy for this talented roster that has been knocking on the door for a championship for years.

If San Francisco wins, they’ll earn their sixth championship as a franchise, which will tie them with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots for the all-time lead with six each.

If Brock Purdy and company hoist the Lombardi at the end of SB LIV, they’ll lay claim to being the greatest NFL franchise of all time.
