2023 USFL Betting And Playoff Projections Entering Week 9

With only two weeks remaining in the 2023 USFL regular season, all eight teams still have a chance of making it to the playoffs. In the USFL, the winner of each division gets an automatic bid to the playoffs, with the runner-up in each division becoming the second seed.

Both division leaders hold a two-game or fewer lead on the two teams that are currently ranked at the bottom. Any USFL team can either win the division or earn the number two seed as of today.

Odds To Win The 2023 USFL Championship

  • Birmingham Stallions +250
  • New Orleans Breakers +350
  • Philadelphia Stars +475
  • Houston Gamblers +500
  • Memphis Showboats +600
  • Michigan Panthers +1100
  • New Jersey Generals +1100
  • Pittsburgh Maulers +2500

Online USFL betting sites have provided incredibly long odds on three teams despite everyone still being eligible to make the postseason. Check out the +1100 moneyline odds on the Pittsburgh Maulers. If the season ended today, they’d be in the playoffs!

A trip to the playoffs means that each of the four teams is only two wins away from a USFL Championship, so it isn’t like they have to make an extensive postseason run to capture a title.

Just ask the Arlington Renegades of the XFL, who just won the 2023 Championship after entering the playoffs with four wins and six losses.

The following tweet from the USFL demonstrates the dominance that the South has over the North at the moment. It illustrates the fact that all four North teams lost to the South in Week 8.

Week 9 USFL Betting Lines

Tomorrow at noon, kickoff between the Panthers and Maulers will go down at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

Michigan Panthers vs. Pittsburgh Maulers

  • Point Spread: Panthers -2.0, Maulers +2.0
  • Moneyline: Panthers -130, Maulers +110
  • Over/Under: 41.5

One of these teams is guaranteed a win, and they both need it. A loss likely expels Pittsburgh from the playoff hunt, and the win will allow Michigan to keep pace and continue to hold at least the second spot in the North Division.

The Panthers are projected to win by 2 points and move to 4-5.

Later at 3 PM at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee, the Breakers and Showboats face off in a battle of 5-3 teams.

New Orleans Breakers @ Memphis Showboats

  • Point Spread: Breakers +1.0, Showboats -1.0
  • Moneyline: Breakers -105, Showboats -115
  • Over/Under: 42.5

The football betting sites included in our list of legal online sportsbook reviews are favoring Memphis by a single point, implying that either team can win. The winner will be a likely playoff qualifier, while the loser will need a victory in Week 10 and some help to stay above water.

The Gamblers are the only USFL team in Week 9 to host a true home game.

Sunday at 2 PM, also at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, the Stallions will try to beat the Gamblers and remain atop the South Division.

Birmingham Stallions vs. Houston Gamblers

  • Point Spread: Stallions -4.0, Gamblers +4.0
  • Moneyline: Stallions -180, Gamblers +155
  • Over/Under: 45.5

If Birmingham loses, they’ll fall to the rest of the pack and blow the division wide open. Houston is projected to lose by 4.

Wrapping up Week 9 at 7 PM At in Canton, Ohio, is the Stars and Generals, where a loss from New Jersey will expel them from postseason contention.

Philadelphia Stars vs. New Jersey Generals

  • Point Spread: Stars -2.0, Generals +2.0
  • Moneyline: Stars -135, Generals +115
  • Over/Under 44.0

New Jersey is a two-point underdog on Sunday and could be poised for the upset.
