Tomorrow’s Jake Paul And Mike Perry Fight Will Be A Sanctioned Match

Tampa, Florida’s Amelie Arena will host a full card of boxing matches tomorrow night, with a main event that features YouTuber-turned-pro fighter Jake Paul and bare-knuckle brawler Mike Perry.

There are certainly plenty of fans of Jake Paul out there, but much of the allure of his “pro” fights is attached to his potential of getting knocked out in embarrassing fashion.

Boxing enthusiasts and Paul haters believed they would finally get their money’s worth when he signed on to fight Mike Tyson. Lines for the fight appeared at boxing betting sites across the web in anticipation.

Unfortunately, “Iron” Mike had to postpone their July 20th fight due to an ulcerative condition. The Tyson Paul fight is still on for November 15th, but Amelie Arena remained booked for July, and Jake needed an opponent. Enter Mike Perry.

Perry is much like most of Paul’s opponents—a seasoned fighter with extensive combat experience but not a top-ranked boxer.

Mike has been an above-average competitor in the ranks of the UFC but lost his only prior boxing match back in 2015. He seems to have found his stride in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships, winning his first five fights in the promotion.

During his time in BKFC, Perry has developed an iron chin that allows him to take bigger swings at his opponent. He is not over the hill either. At 32 years old, he is still trying to find his niche.

A knockout of Jake Paul could be the perfect recipe to place him back on the radar of major fighting promotions. Anyone who cleans Paul’s clock in the ring is sure to experience success that reaches far beyond their share of the purse.

Despite Paul’s online persona and in-ring antics, he does seem to be taking this whole boxing thing seriously. His record of 9-1 is a testament to his dedication, with his only loss coming against Tommy Fury via decision in January 2023.

Online sportsbooks are projecting a certain win for Jake Paul.

Mike Perry vs. Jake Paul Betting Odds

  • Mike Perry +350
  • Jake Paul -500
  • Over/Under: 6.5 Rounds

Depending on where you shop, there is some variance between the moneyline odds to win on each boxer. A Perry win would represent a major upset across the board.

Mike Perry vs. Jake Paul Betting Odds

  • Jake Paul -450
  • Mike Perry +350

The match will be officially sanctioned, removing it from the realm of celebrity boxing. Paul still has the Tyson match on his schedule, and if he gets through both fights unscathed, he wants a chance at the cruiserweight title next year.

“I believe in 2025, I will most likely be a world champion. I think I’m ready for it in the next couple of months and I’m going to go for it in 2025.”

Jake Paul

At the moment, the current Cruiserweight Champions are Chris Billam-Smith (WBO), Jai Opetaia (IBF), Gilberto Ramirez (WBA), and Norair Mikaeljan (WBC). Paul will most likely need a warm-up fight or two at the top level before ranking well enough to get a title shot.
