The NBA’s annual All Star Weekend begins tomorrow and concludes Sunday night at 8:30 PM when the best of the east battles the top hoopers in the west.
Odds for betting on the NBA All Star Game and other events were posted today. Here, we’ll break down the NBA lines in order of occurrence.
Friday at 9:00 PM on TNT, the Rising Stars Tournament begins. This is a matchup of the best first and second-year players in the Eastern and Western Conference.
NBA All Star Jordan Rising Stars Tournament Odds
- Team Pau +175
- Team Deron +200
- Team Joakim +275
- Team Jason +425
This year, the players are split into four teams, selected by coaches Pau Gasol, Deron Williams, Jason Terry, and Joakim Noah. Online NBA sportsbooks favor Gasol’s team to win.
Pau’s squad features Orlando Magic rookie Paolo Banchero and Scottie Barnes of the Toronto Raptors. Don’t sleep on Team Deron and the Magic’s Franz Wagner. He’ll shoot your eye out.
Friday night at 8:00 PM, the State Farm All Star Saturday Night special begins. This includes the Skills Challenge, Dunk Contest, and 3-Point Contest, all of which feature basketball betting odds.
NBA All Star Skills Challenge Odds
- Team Jazz (J. Clarkson, W. Kessler, C. Sexton) -120
- Team Rookies (P. Banchero, J. Ivey, J. Smith Jr.) +130
- Team Antetokounmpo (Giannis, Thanasis, Alex) +475
The 3-man team formed from Utah Jazz players is favored to top the rookies and Antetokounmpo brothers. However, their lead is slim. The home trio is only 50 points ahead of the rookies in the moneyline.
NBA All Star Three-Point Contest Odds
- Buddy Hield (IND) +425
- Anfernee Simons (POR) +450
- Damian Lillard (POR) +450
- Tyrese Haliburton (IND) +500
- Jayson Tatum (BOS) +550
- Kevin Huerter (SAC) +550
- Lauri Markkanen (UTA) +600
- Tyler Herro (MIA) +675
Buddy Hield of the Indiana Pacers surged into the lead after being placed 4th in the initial odds. Did a bunch of Hoosier State homers impact the NBA odds, or is there reason to think that Hield is the man to beat?
Regardless of the 3-point contest odds you wager on, 4-to-1 net payouts are the worst you’ll do if successful.
NBA All Star Dunk Contest Odds
- Mac McClung (PHI) +125
- Kenyon Martin Jr. (HOU) +225
- Jericho Sims (NYK) +225
- Trey Murphy III (NOP) +300
The league really needs to address the lack of star power included in the Dunk Contest each year. Worldwide audiences would gather around their television sets to watch someone like the Memphis Grizzlies’ Ja Morant elevate above the rim, but he’s not included in the contest.
That said, it should be a fun watch regardless of who is involved. The Philadelphia 76ers’ Mac McClung is leading the Dunk Contest betting lines at the moment.
Odds To Win The 2023 NBA All Star Game
- Team Giannis +105
- Team Lebron -135
NBA All Star Odds For Player Selected 1st Overall
- Luka Doncic (DAL) +200
- Joel Embiid (PHI) +400
- Kyrie Irving (DAL) +350
- Jayson Tatum (BOS) +450
- Nikola Jokic (DEN) +550
- Ja Morant (MEM) +800
- Donovan Mitchell (CLE) +1000
- Lauri Markkanen (UTA) +4000
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC) +4000
- Anthony Edwards (MIN) +4000
The elder Lebron James and his group of ballers are projected to win the 2023 NBA All Star Game. Team Giannis is also near even and has a legit shot of winning.
We’re not sure what’s giving James the edge over Antetokounmpo, as they’ve yet to draft their rosters.
