It will be the 151st time the race has taken place, and twenty three-year-old thoroughbreds are preparing to etch their name in the history books.

Journalism remains the top odds getter for tomorrow’s race. His moneyline has improved 100 points from +350 to +250 since we last wrote about the Kentucky Derby on April 16th.
Sovereignty remains in second place in the futures, but his odds have risen from +700 to +600 over the past 16 days. Sandman has also held his third overall ranking in the prerace odds, rising from +1000 to +700.
Regardless of which horse is wagered on, if correct, between 2.5x and 50x payouts are on the line.
Will A Horse Win The Triple Crown In 2025?
- Yes +700
- No -1400
These odds for Triple Crown betting are posted at BetUS Sportsbook.
Only thirteen thoroughbreds have won all three races in the 151 years that the Triple Crown has existed. Based on pure math and the difficulty of winning all three races, it is only natural that the Triple Crown odds heavily favor an outcome where there is no winner.
While these may be the highest the odds for “yes” will get, players may as well wait to place their bets on this Triple Crown prop until after the Kentucky Derby is over and the winner is known.
What Happened To Horse Number 4?
Rodriguez has a foot bruise that has forced him to withdraw from the 2025 Derby. His initial odds of winning were set at +1200, which was good for 5th overall in the prerace odds.
Baeza has taken Rodriguez’s place and has an identical +1200 moneyline. Baeza is the half-brother of Mage, who won the Derby in 2023. Baeza was the second-place finisher behind Journalism at last month’s Santa Anita Derby.
We like Baeza as a deep sleeper to win the race, and he is paying out at 12-to-1 at the moment.
