Kamala Harris Shops For VPs While Trump Considers Dropping JD Vance

Kamala Harris and her potential VP Josh Shapiro

In exactly three months, the United States will vote for new leadership in what could end up being the most contentious election in the nation’s history.

Both Presidential candidates couldn’t be further apart in their respective policies and political stances, and this election will essentially take the temperature of the citizenry on a state-by-state basis.

The 2024 Democratic National Convention begins in two weeks, but Harris plans to announce her Vice Presidential running mate tomorrow.

Who Will Kamala Harris Select As Her VP?

Presumptive Democratic candidate and current Vice President Kamala Harris has announced that she will reveal her 2024 running mate at a rally tomorrow night in Philadelphia, PA.

Online political sportsbooks rate Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro as the most likely selection, and the rally’s location would align with that projection.

Democrat Vice President Nominee

  • Josh Shapiro -250
  • Tim Walz +200
  • Andy Beshear +1400
  • Mark Kelly +1800
  • Pete Buttigieg +3500
  • J.B. Pritzker +10000

Harris interviewed US Senator Mark Kelly (AZ), Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and Gov. Shapiro over the weekend, but somehow, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is ranked third overall in the VP odds.

That makes Kelly a legit sleeper at +1800, but it appears to be a two-dog race between Shapiro and Walz.

Is Trump Going To Drop JD Vance?

As soon as Trump announced JD Vance as his Vice President, critics began scouring through the pages of his autobiography, Hillybilly Elegy. Polls have soured on Vance since his selection, and speculation is building that Trump could make a change to counteract Harris’ rising popularity.

J.D. Vance Replaced as Republican VP Nominee?

  • No -900
  • Yes +500

The above prop implies that JD is safe for now, with five-to-one payouts available if he is dropped.

While Vance being dropped from the 2024 Trump ticket seems unlikely according to political prop bets, oddsmakers are taking wagers on who his potential replacement would be.

Replacement Republican VP Nominee

  • Doug Burgum +325
  • Ben Carson +400
  • Nikki Haley +500
  • Tulsi Gabbard +600
  • Tim Scott +750
  • Elise Stefanik +800
  • Sarah Huckabee Sanders +1400
  • Vivek Ramaswamy +1400
  • Robert F. Kennedy Jr. +1400

North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum appears to be at the top of Trump’s radar, with familiar faces Ben Carson and Nikki Haley following closely behind. Both Haley and Carson were featured in the VP futures prior to Vance becoming the running mate.

Independent candidate for POTUS, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is listed as a potential, and could be employed as a strategy to gather up centrist votes. Former GOP candidate and Trump cheerleader Vivek Ramaswamy is also a reasonable choice, but his lack of experience in the political arena does little to help Trump’s cause once in office.
