NFL Combine Betting: Will Anyone Break Xavier Worthy’s 40-Yard Dash Record?

Xavier Worthy running a 40-Yard Dashat the 2024 NFL Combine

Today, the 2025 NFL Combine begins at Indianapolis, Indiana’s Lucas Oil Stadium. The four-day event brings together the top college football prospects and places them in a series of athletic drills so that NFL scouts can evaluate their potential at the pro level.

Some players entering the NFL Draft have already proven enough to warrant a selection at the top of the first round regardless of how they perform in the combine. For others, the event allows them to elevate their status in the eyes of general managers around the league and earn a hefty contract based on their times, reps, and measurements.

For viewers of the combine, much of the intrigue involves whether athletes will break standing records for each discipline. For NFL sportsbooks, the focus is on record-breaking performances, total times, and reps.

40-Yard Dash

Speed is one of the most coveted assets in the National Football League. A solid 40-yard dash time can move players up the draft board more than any other combine drill.

The fastest-ever 40-yard dash time was recorded at the 2024 NFL Draft when Xavier Worthy crossed the line in 4.21 seconds.

Fastest 40 Yard Dash Time

  • Faster than 4.27 seconds +165
  • Slower than 4.27 seconds -240

Fastest 40-Yard Dash Time to Break Xavier Worthy Combine Record

  • Yes (Faster than 4.21 seconds) +600
  • No (Slower than 4.21 seconds) -1200

The above NFL prop bets suggest that Worthy’s record will not be broken this year.

Bench Press

Outside of speed, the most important asset that an NFL player can possess is strength. Stephen Pea set the record for most bench presses of 225 pounds when he lifted the bar 49 times in 2011.

Most bench press reps

  • More than 40 reps -105
  • Less than 40 reps -135

Most bench press reps to break Stephen Paea Combine Record

  • Yes (More Than 49 Reps) +650
  • No (Less Than 49 Reps) -1400

The over/under for bench press reps is set at 40, and the NFL odds suggest that no prospects will lift the bar 50 or more times.

Vertical Jump

Leaping ability gives wide receivers, tight ends, and defensive linemen an edge when reaching for balls in the air. Chris Conley and Donald Washington achieved the highest vertical jump recorded at the draft when they leaped an incredible 45 inches.

Highest Vertical Jump

  • Over 43.5 inches -145
  • Under 43.5 inches +105

Highest Vertical Jump to Break Chris Conley / Donald Washington Combine Record

  • Yes (Higher than 45 Inches) +300
  • No (Lower than 45 Inches) -500

Conley and Washington’s record is projected to stand through the 2025 Draft. The over/under for this year’s results are set at 43.5 inches.

Broad Jump

The longest-ever broad jump at the combine was performed by Byron Jones in 2015 when he leaped a distance of 12’3″. This year’s over/under is set at 11’5″.

Longest Broad jump

  • Higher than 11’5″ -135
  • Lower than 11’5″ -105

Longest Broad jump to break Byron Jones Combine Record

  • Yes (More Than 12’3″) +900
  • No (Less Than 12’3″) -3500

Agility Drills

Another parameter that can set players apart from the pack is their agility on the field. The following props for cone drills and shuttles suggest that standing records are safe this year.

  • Faster than 3.88 seconds -105
  • Slower than 3.88 seconds -135

  • No (Slower Than 3.81 Seconds) -900

Fastest 3-Cone Drill to break J.T. Thomas Combine Record

  • Yes (Faster Than 6.28 Seconds) +375
  • No (Slower Than 6.28 Seconds) -650
