The 2024 Democratic National Convention began this morning at 7 AM and will run through Vice President Kamala Harris’ acceptance speech on Thursday evening.
The DNC Convention is being held in Chicago, Illinois, the location of the highly contested DNC Convention in 1968. This time, there is no contest. Kamala Harris will officially become the Democratic Party’s nominee for president in 2024.
Who Will Be At The DNC Convention?
John Legend will perform for the third time at a DNC, and many celebrities are already on the schedule to take the stage and offer their endorsement.
Political betting sites have produced prop bets that allow wagers on the celebrities that may show up on air between now and Thursday. None of the actors or musicians that are featured in this prop bet are favored to appear, despite the inclusion of many vocal Democratic Party supporters.
To Make An Official Appearance At The DNC
- George Clooney +225
- Lady Gaga +225
- Taylor Swift +350
- Robert De Niro +400
- Jay-Z +500
- Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson +600

George Clooney, who supported the ousting of Biden as the official nominee, is listed highest with a +225 moneyline. Sportsbooks will pay $2.25 for each dollar wagered on Clooney to appear, implying a very low likelihood of him taking the stage.
Will Beyoncé Be There?
Beyoncé has performed at the convention before, but she has not confirmed that she’ll be singing in 2024. Hollywood gambling sites are so certain she’ll be there that they’ve got prop bets asking what her wardrobe will consist of and how many songs will be in the setlist.
Beyoncé Number Of Songs At DNC
- Over 2.5 Songs Sung: Beyoncé -120
- Under 2.5 Songs Sung: Beyoncé -120
Harris is using Beyoncé’s song “Freedom” for her campaign.

What About Taylor Swift?
Taylor Swift endorsed Joe Biden in 2020, but she has not publicly thrown her support behind Kamala Harris. She is rated at +350, which converts to a 22% chance of appearing at the convention.
Swift is in London for a series of concerts at Wembley Stadium, but logistically, she could make it back to the States before the DNC Convention concludes on Thursday.
There are already Swifty-adjacent activities brewing in Chicago. CNN reports there are DNC-endorsed friendship bracelet stations for crafting them and trading with others.
Who Is Leading The Presidential Betting Odds?
Can Harris parlay her current overabundance of goodwill into an election-day victory this November? The betting odds are already showing some signs of trouble.
Kamala has held a slim lead on Donald Trump since mid-July, but on the morning of the DNC’s onset, she has fallen behind at some sportsbooks. Ebbs and flows are normal, but with the bump that the convention is expected to give Harris, it is strange that she’d slip in the odds on day 1.
That said, if Swift shows up in Chicago for an endorsement or a performance, expect the Democratic Party’s ticket to surge upward in their odds to win once again.
