Two franchises have finished an NFL regular season undefeated during the Super Bowl era. The first was the Miami Dolphins in 1972, who went 14-0 during the regular season and 3-0 in the playoffs, completing the first perfect season in the league’s history.
The Dolphins remain the only team to accomplish that feat.
In 2007, the New England Patriots finished the season 16-0 but lost a heartbreaker to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII. The Patriots are still the only team to win all 16 regular season games.
In 2020, the NFL schedule expanded to 17 games, making an undefeated effort even more improbable.
The Kansas City Chiefs are back-to-back Super Bowl champions and have won the first nine games of the 2024-25 schedule. The Chiefs enter Week 11 as an underdog to the Buffalo Bills, who are favored by -2.5 points at NFL betting sites.
The Bills and Chiefs have dominated the AFC since Buffalo drafted Josh Allen in 2018 and KC selected Mahomes in 2017. The two quarterbacks have had quite the rivalry thus far, with Allen taking care of business in the regular season but Mahomes owning the series in the playoffs.
Odds have been created for betting on the Chiefs and their potential for going 17-0, and there are a few different ways to gamble on the outcome.
The following prop offers moneyline odds on each of KC’s remaining games. Their matchup against the Bills this Sunday has the most favorable odds for a loss, and game lines favor Buffalo by 2.5 points at home.
Chiefs’ First Regular Season Loss or Tie
- at Buffalo Bills (Week 11) -135 (BUF -2.5)
- at Carolina Panthers (Week 12) +1300 (KC -10.5)
- vs. Las Vegas Raiders (Week 13) +1500
- vs. Los Angeles Chargers (Week 14) +750
- at Cleveland Browns (Week 15) +1100
- vs. Houston Texans (Week 16) +1200
- at Pittsburgh Steelers (Week 17) +1500
- at Denver Broncos (Week 18) +2300
- To Go 17-0 +800
If the Chiefs can beat the Bills this weekend, they’ll likely be favored in all their remaining games. The Houston Texans are an elite AFC team, but their Week 16 game will be in Arrowhead Stadium.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have squeaked by opponents. Could they really go 17-0?
Here’s why they might need to change ⬇️ https://t.co/Ue9WZGbCQq

Late-season interdivisional matchups are always tough. Although winnable, their contests against the LA Chargers and Denver Broncos could be the most difficult remaining.
NFL prop bets are offered at multiple sportsbooks, asking whether Kansas City will finish 17-0 or 20-0.
Chiefs To Finish 17-0
- Yes +800
- No -2500
The moneyline odds convert to an 11% chance of a 17-0 finish and a 96% chance of the Chiefs losing at least one game between now and Week 18.
Perfect 2024-25 Season – Super Bowl LIX Winning Team To Go 20-0
- Yes +1600
This NFL prop doesn’t directly identify the Chiefs, but they’re the only team remaining without a loss. The +1600 NFL odds imply a 6% chance of success. While that may seem like a longshot, KC’s odds of going 20-0 are better than at least 26 team’s chances of winning Super Bowl LIX.
