Betting On CFP Spoilers On College Football Rivalry Week

Florida Gator fans

The final Saturday of the college football regular season always features in-state rivalries where bragging rights and often bowl game berths are on the line. This year, there are several CFP question marks heading into the final weekend before Conference Championship Saturday.

Legal online college football sportsbooks have created game lines for all major NCAAF contests tomorrow. Here are the lines that could impact the CFP and which teams qualify when the final rankings are rendered in just over a week’s time.

The ACC

Kentucky vs. Louisville (#10)

  • Point Spread: Wildcats +7.0, Cardinals -7.0
  • Moneyline: Wildcats +225, Cardinals -275
  • Over/Under: 50.5

Florida State (#5) vs. Florida

  • Point Spread: Seminoles -6.5, Gators +6.5
  • Moneyline: Seminoles -250, Gators +210
  • Over/Under: 50.5

Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis is now out for the rest of the year with a leg injury. Still, the Seminoles remain undefeated and ranked number five entering the final week of the regular season. If both FSU and Lousville win as expected, they’ll play each other in the ACC Championship Game.

FSU can make it to the CFP if they win out, but they could have trouble getting in if Alabama wins the SEC. The Cardinals would need additional teams to lose in order to make it to the playoffs as the ACC champions.

The Pac-12

Oregon State (#16) vs. Oregon (#6)

  • Point Spread: Beavers +13.5, Ducks -13.5
  • Moneyline: Beavers +430, Ducks -625
  • Over/Under: 62.5

Washington State vs. Washington (#4)

  • Point Spread: Cougars +16.0, Huskies -16.0
  • Moneyline: Cougars +550, Huskies -850
  • Over/Under: 68.0

Now that FSU appears to be struggling, the Pac-12 has a much better chance of producing a CFP program in 2023-24. If Washington wins the next two games, then it will be hard to keep them out of the playoffs. If Oregon takes the Pac-12 as a one-loss team, they’ll need a little help from others to clear a path to the playoffs.

Washington has bumped Florida State out of the most recent CFP brackets, but must beat the number 16 and 6 teams in the nation to try and win a national championship.

The Big Ten

Ohio State (#2) vs. Michigan (#3)

  • Point Spread: Buckeyes +3.0, Wolverines -3.0
  • Moneyline: Buckeyes +140, Wolverines -165
  • Over/Under: 45.5

The whole ball of wax is up for grabs when Ohio State visits Michigan this weekend, and by that we mean the Big Ten title and the CFP National Champioship. The winner will move on to play the lowly Iowa Hawkeyes in the Big Ten Championship Game where they’ll certainly be favored to win and be among the College Football Playoff contendors for 2023-24.

For the loser, the season will be over but their hopes for a CFP spot could remain alive. Consider this, either Ohio State or Michigan is guaranteed to finish with one loss, with that only blemish coming against what could be the top-ranked team in the nation.

The SEC

Both Alabama and Georgia play their state rivals, Auburn and Georgia Tech, and are favored by double-digit point spreads. These two teams are expected to face each other in the SEC Championship Game, where the winner will be secured a final four playoff spot.

The Crimson Tide could play spoiler by winning the SEC because that would cause the Bulldogs to finish with one loss and still remain in contention for the CFP. If Alabama loses, they have no shot at the postseason. However, if the Crimson Tide win the SEC, they could become the odds on favorite at College Football Playoffs bettting sites.
