Rivals will always chase each other into new markets, trying to come out on top.

After a 5-day limited customer access soft-launch for FanDuel’s Sportsbook app in New Jersey, FanDuel has gone live and public in New Jersey with their online sportsbook and mobile wagering app. FanDuel’s Sportsbook app and online portal utilize GeoComply technology to ensure players gambling are located within the state of New Jersey. Currently, only bettors who are at least 21 and over may legally participate in wagering on FanDuel.

New Jersey had seen the launch of a sportsbook app by daily fantasy sports company DraftKings in August, as of September FanDuel launched their own sports betting app. FanDuel awaited official clearance by the Supreme Court regarding PASPA before developing their app, unlike their rival DraftKings who began development on their app last year. FanDuel’s development and strategy team took regulators and possible grey-areas seriously and dared not to push their limits.

During SCOTUS’s PASPA review, FanDuel and Ireland-based Paddy Power entered into acquisitions discussions. Paddy Power acquired FanDuel under the circumstance FanDuel’s developers would produce a sportsbook app in time for football season, giving a 6-month deadline. While Paddy Power technology fuels the FanDuel Sportsbook app and utilizes similar betting and pricing mechanisms as Paddy Power’s existing sports betting products, FanDuel spent time designing and customizing the app for American appeal and consumption.

This addition by FanDuel gives New Jersey 5 sportsbook apps to choose from, including playMGM, SugarHouse Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook, and William Hill. FanDuel’s online and mobile sportsbook app is said to mirror the prices found at its NJ partner, the Meadowlands. FanDuel has worked to position themselves as a non-discriminatory company in terms of bankroll size allowing all bettors a chance to use the platform by making minimum wagers only 10 cents.

The online website and sportsbook app are said to display rich graphics and visually update scores on a real-time basis. Currently, no esports offers will be provided for either sportsbook portals due to the majority of the audience interested in esports being under the age of eighteen. Reviews of FanDuel’s Sportsbook have detailed a 100% bonus for first-time depositors, valued up to $100.

The platform will also allow for daily fantasy sports balances to be interchangeable and used in FanDuel’s sportsbook. FanDuel’s Sportsbook portals accept seven different types of payment options for bettors to use from debit, credit, ACH, to online bank transfers and more.

Wide wagering selection is a special feature FanDuel’s Sportsbook touts from in-game wagering, also known as live wagering, future betting odds, round robins, teasers, point spreads, run lines, over/unders, parlays, money lines, betting verticals, to prop bets. However, the features do not end there as live cashout capabilities are granted for any live bets, giving the bettors an opportunity to get their payout during a game. Another unique feature is FanDuel’s customized betting, which tracks an individual gamblers betting pattern and history to suggest tailored wagering options for the user.

New Jersey won’t get to hog all the fun as FanDuel Sportsbooks are said to open in Greenbrier, West Virginia. FanDuel may adjust how their sportsbooks operate in each state or enforce uniform guidelines between all. Either way, Android and iOS users in West Virginia will get to enjoy sports betting offers in their state soon.
