Betting On The 2024 Home Run Derby: Odds Favor Pete Alonso To Win

  • Begins At 8 PM Tonight On ESPN
  • The Derby Will Be Played At Globe Life Field, Home Of The Texas Rangers
  • Pete Alonso Is Favored To Win His Third Home Run Derby

Tonight, under the bright lights of Globe Life Field, eight of Major League Baseball’s top sluggers will attempt to knock as many home runs out of the park as they can.

More HRs are projected than usual, as Globe Life is known for giving up a lot of home runs. This year, the stadium ranks third in the Major League in hits that have escaped the outfield wall.

Juan Soto, Aaron Judge, and Shohei Ohtani were invited to participate in this year’s Derby but declined. Pete Alonso of the New York Mets is the only former winner included in the field.

Alonso is also favored to win by a significant margin at online MLB All-Star betting sites.

2024 MLB Home Run Derby Odds To Win

  • Pete Alonso (NYM) +300
  • Adolis Garcia (TEX) +425
  • Gunnar Henderson (BAL) +425
  • Marcell Ozuna (ATL) +450
  • Bobby Witt Jr. (KC) +500
  • Teoscar Hernandez (LAD) +1000
  • Jose Ramirez (CLE) +1200
  • Alec Bohm (PHI) +2000

The Mets’ first baseman won the Derby in 2019 and 2021 and will tie Ken Griffey Jr. for the all-time lead if these MLB odds are accurate. Outfielder Adolis Garcia of the Rangers is a nice sleeper candidate and is tied for second place at +425 with Gunner Henderson of the Baltimore Orioles.

Online MLB sportsbooks have ranked Garcia so highly because he’ll be swinging the bat in his home stadium. Atlanta Braves designated hitter Marcell Ozuna and shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. of the Kansas City Royals are the only other batters within consideration.

All others are listed at +1000 or higher, which means they have a 9% or less chance of winning.

2024 Home Run Derby Rules
