A total of eight former Daytona 500 winners are a part of this year’s race, with three-time champion Denny Hamlin holding the best chance of a repeat, according to NASCAR betting sites.

Predicting the eventual winner of a NASCAR race is incredibly difficult. Because of this, the odds for betting on the Daytona 500 are highly profitable for all drivers.

For example, betting on either of the two favorites will earn gamblers $12 for each $1 risked if they win.

The race is similar to betting on the Masters in golf in that older competitors are familiar with the course and often do well. That’s why former winners are sexy underdog picks that are worth risking a dollar or two on.

For instance, online sportsbooks aren’t giving Jimmie Johnson much of a chance with a +15000 moneyline, but a $1 bet will net winners $150 if he crosses the finish line first.

NASCAR gamblers who are looking for an easier path to a win can wager on the manufacturer of the car that will win the Daytona 500.

Winning Manufacturer

  • Ford +140
  • Chevrolet +150
  • Toyota +250

Ford is slightly favored over Chevy for the win at +140. Kyle Busch drives a Chevrolet, and Ryan Blaney drives a Ford, but these odds don’t necessarily mean that Blaney has the edge.

This prop bet speaks more to the overall field of drivers and which car type is most likely to win.

There are also numerous head-to-head Daytona 500 prop bets that allow gambling on a driver finishing ahead of a competitor.

Race – Driver H2H – Busch v Blaney

  • Kyle Busch -115
  • Ryan Blaney -115

Once again, NASCAR oddsmakers are undecided as both Busch and Blaney are garnering identical odds versus each other.

Daytona 500 qualifying rounds begin tonight at 8:15 p.m.
