2022 Summer Slam Betting: WWE Moves On Following Vince McMahon Exit

This weekend’s Summer Slam pay-per-view will be the first ever in the history of the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) without Vince McMahon at the helm.

Following an investigation that uncovered at least $12 million in NDAs paid out to former female employees of the company, rather than drag things out, McMahon decided to retire as of last Friday.

Stephanie McMahon, Vince’s daughter, is now heading up the WWE in the role of CEO with her husband, HHH (Paul Levesque), now in charge of creative.

However, Vince still holds a majority of the company’s publically traded stock and cannot be outvoted by the board as it currently exists. The same cannot be said for McMahon’s cohorts as it appears that the days are numbered for executives John Laurinaitis and Kevin Dunn.

This is show business, so Summer Slam must carry on as planned. Thankfully, pro wrestling betting sites have produced odds for each match on the card.

In a rematch from WrestleMania earlier this year, Brock Lesnar will challenge Roman Reigns in an attempt to capture the unified WWE and Universal Heavyweight Championship belts.

Undisputed WWE Heavyweight Championship Match

  • Roman Reigns -350
  • Brock Lesnar +225

This matchup is a result of a depleted roster and injuries to major stars like Cody Rhodes. There simply isn’t another big-time bout to book at the moment, so the company went with a rematch from just three months ago.

Entertainment prop bets are suggesting that Reigns retains both straps, but perhaps HHH has a new direction in mind for the WWE. Bets on Brock Lesnar’s wrestling odds of +225 will payout at $3.25 per dollar risked if you’ve got the stones to lay the action.

Logan Paul vs. The Miz

  • Logan Paul -500
  • The Miz +300

YouTube star Logan Paul makes his second appearance in a WWE ring following the tag team match he had at WrestleMania 2022 where the Miz was his partner.

Logan Paul is a dominant favorite in this match. Legal online entertainment sportsbooks are requiring a bet of $5 on Logan Paul’s odd of -500 just to net a dollar in profit.

Paul recently signed a multi-year deal with the WWE and it seems that he’ll be appearing at a few PPV events annually. He’s a natural fit for the ring this far and it could serve to extend his athletic career without risking getting knocked out by a former boxing or MMA legend.

Here is Logan Paul in action on last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW on the USA Network.

Smackdown Women’s Championship Match

  • Liv Morgan -300
  • Ronda Rousey +200

Former UFC powerhouse, Ronda Rousey, is projected to lose yet another match in 2022. Could Rousey be winding up her WWE contract and doing a job for everyone before she leaves?

Again, new management is in place so anything can happen, but for now, Rousey’s days may be numbered in the promotion.

Here are the remaining Summer Slam odds and betting lines for this Saturday’s event on Peacock.

McAfee vs. Corbin

  • Pat McAfee -300
  • Happy Corbin +200

Tag Team Championship Match

  • The Usos -350
  • The Street Profits +225

United States Heavyweight Championship Match

  • Bobby Lashley -250
  • Theory +170

  • Bianca Belair -500
  • Becky Lynch +300
