Starting Thursday and wrapping up Sunday, the 2025 PGA Championship will award a top golfer the second major title of the year. Quail Hollow Golf & Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, is the tournament course, and the event can be seen on ESPN and CBS.
This year, 14 former champions are playing in the field: Keegan Bradley, Jason Day, Jason Dufner, Padraig Harrington, Martin Kaymer, Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy, Shaun Micheel, Phil Mickelson, Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele, Vijay Singh, Justin Thomas, and Jimmy Walker.
Of those former winners, only three golfers are among the top in the betting odds: McIlroy, Schauffele, and Thomas.

The 2024 PGA Championship was won by Xander Schauffele, who finished 21 under par. Schauffele is rated fourth in the odds to win at golf sportsbooks and is a solid underdog pick for the tournament.

Bryson DeChambeau finished second last year, losing by one stroke. He is currently rated third overall in the PFA Championship futures. DeChambeau is hungry for his third major golf championship, with his two wins coming at the 2020 and 2024 US Open.
McIlroy has the best odds to win at the moment and is rated 15 points better than Scottie Scheffler. Despite Rory’s hot streak, winning two majors in a row is incredibly tough and comes with a low probability of success, so bettor beware.

Naturally, the odds lean toward Scheffler and McIlroy finishing higher on the PGA Championship leaderboard on Sunday afternoon. While these moneylines will provide much lower payouts than what can be secured by guessing the overall winner in futures odds, the chance of a win is more or less 50/50.
