UFC 314 Betting: Two Main Events At The Top Of The Card

A promo image for UFC 314 featuring Volkanovski and Lopes

UFC 314 is scheduled for April 12th at Miami’s Kaseya Center. The top of the card will feature a co-main event that includes a Featherweight Championship match and a lightweight fight where the winner could get a title shot.

Alexander Volkanovski vs. Diego Lopes

The current UFC Featherweight Champion Ilia Topuria has vacated the title so that he can move up to the lightweight division. Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes will battle it out in the co-main event of UFC 314 to determine who the next champion will be.

UFC betting sites are granting Volkanovski a slight edge in the odds to win, but both fighters are hovering around even money.

  • Alexander Volkanovski -140
  • Diego Lopes +120
  • @Bovada

Is Volkanocski a safe bet? He has lost three out of his last four MMA fights and is on the short end of most measurable parameters heading into the Lopes bout.

Diego is also on a bit of a hot streak. He has won his last five matches, last losing to Movsar Evloev in May 2023 at UFC 288.

Michael Chandler vs. Paddy Pimblett

The other co-main event of UFC 314 will be a lightweight division match between Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett. The moneyline odds favor Pimblett to win, granting him an edge of 100 points at most online sportsbooks.

Pimblett is ahead of Chandler on every measurable asset and has only lost three times in 25 career fights.

Chandler has lost four out of his last five MMA matches. However, those losses have come at the hands of some of today’s best fighters, including Charles Oliveira, Dustin Poirier, and Justin Gaethje.

Will Paddy be the next big-name fighter to hand Chandler an L? He sure thinks so, and projects a second-round knockout at UFC 314.

“[He] is getting finished in two, it does not matter how many it’s scheduled for. Everyone can expect a finish come April 12.”

Pimblett has won his last eight fights in a row, and has not lost since 2018. A victory over Chandler could put Pimblett in line for a Lightweight Championship match.

The current title holder is Islam Makhachev.
