Betting On The Masters: Scheffler, McIlroy Lead The Odds To Win

Scottie Scheffler winning the Masters

The 2025 Masters Tournament begins Thursday at Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia, teeing off professional golf’s major tournament season.

PGA Golf betting sites have futures and several prop bets available now, accepting action on potential winners, round leaders, and head-to-head competitions.

The latest Masters futures list Scottie Scheffler as the favorite to win. Scheffler won two of the last three Masters tournaments.

Coming in second is Rory McIlroy at +650.  McIlroy has won all of golf’s major tournaments except for the Masters. His best finish at Augusta National was in 2022 when he placed second.

When it comes to betting on the Masters, former winners are always worth considering. The highest rated Masters champ after Scheffler is Jon Rahm, who won the tournament in 2023.

Rahm and McIlroy are our sleeper picks to win this year. A $1 wager on Rahm will payout at $17, and $7.50 on McIroy. Golf futures at online sportsbooks are almost always singles only, so bets cannot be placed on more than one player to win.

In these instances, we always bet on both players with two different sportsbooks. This also allows gamblers to shop the lines to find the higher paying odds for each golfer.

Former winners of the Masters who are expected to play this year include Ángel Cabrera, Fred Couples, Sergio García, Dustin Johnson, Zach Johnson, Bernhard Langer, Hideki Matsuyama, Phil Mickelson, José María Olazábal, Patrick Reed, Scottie Scheffler, Charl Schwartzel, Adam Scott, Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson, Mike Weir, and Danny Willett.
