Battle Of The Miamis: Betting On The Miami RedHawks vs. Miami Hurricanes

Miami of Ohio and University of Miami logos over Hard Rock Stadium

How many times have you been watching the sports ticker and said to yourself, “Wow, the Hurricanes are getting blown out by a nobody,” only to read the fine print and realize it’s actually Miami of Ohio and not the “U.”

When you’ve won five college football national championships, you’d think you could get an exclusive moniker all to yourself.

Instead of calling one “Miami of Ohio” and the other “Miami,” we’ve now been forced to designate that one is from the Buckeye State and the other is from Florida when browsing betting lines, scores, and rankings.

Tonight, the Miami RedHawks (of Ohio!) will face the Miami Hurricanes in Hard Rock Stadium. This will be the third time the two programs have met, with the Hurricanes leading the series 3-0.

Miami RedHawks vs. Miami Hurricanes Series

  • October 26, 1945 – Miami 27, Miami (OH) 13
  • November 8, 1946 – Miami 20, Miami (OH) 17
  • November 7, 1987 – Miami 54, Miami (OH) 3

The game has been given the unofficial title of “the Confusion Bowl” for obvious reasons. Oddsmakers are not confused, however, as most online college football sportsbooks are favoring the Hurricanes to win the fourth meeting of Miami vs. Miami at home by over 16 points.

Miami RedHawks  @ Miami Hurricanes

  • Point Spread: Miami (Ohio) +16.5, Miami -16.5
  • Moneyline: Miami (Ohio) +575, Miami -900
  • Over/Under: 45.5

Taking the over/under and combining it with the point spread creates a projected outcome of Miami (FL) 31, Miami (OH) 15.

The two Miami’s will kick off at 8 PM for each team’s 2023 season debut.

There are also three other NCAAF games on the schedule for tonight. Last night, four college football games were on the air at the same time but via different networks.

These channels were available in a simulcast mode where all four could be seen at the same time. Unfortunately, that will not be the case tonight, as these games do not air at the same time.

Here are the remaining college football betting lines for tonight’s games.

7:00 PM – Central Michigan @ Michigan State Spartans

  • Point Spread: Central Michigan +14.0, Michigan State -14.0
  • Moneyline: Central Michigan +430, Michigan State -625
  • Over/Under: 45.0

7:30 PM – Louisville Cardinals @ Georgia Tech Yellowjackets

  • Point Spread: Louisville -7.5, Georgia Tech +7.5
  • Moneyline: Louisville -310, Georgia Tech +255
  • Over/Under: 50.0

11:00 PM – Stanford Cardinal @ Hawaii Rainbow Warriors

  • Point Spread: Stanford -3.0, Hawaii +3.0
  • Moneyline: Stanford -160, Hawaii +135
  • Over/Under: 55.0

College football gamblers can also seek alternative NCAAF lines at any of the sites included in our online sportsbook reviews. Bettors can usually gain a half-point in the spread in either direction by shopping around.

There are also differences in the over/under and moneyline odds from site to site.
