Taylor Swift Is Engaged and Sportsbooks Have Juicy Odds

An American “royal wedding” is in the planning stages as NFL star Travis Kelce and global music icon Taylor Swift have announced their engagement. Kelce, a future Hall of Fame tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, and Swift, one of the most influential artists of her generation, have captivated fans with a relationship that has been prominently featured during NFL broadcasts.

With their engagement now official, Swift’s presence at games and the media attention surrounding her reactions will likely continue. Some football fans and “Swifties” are completely buying into the love story and are now suggesting that Swift should also perform at the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show.

In response, online sportsbooks have joined the buzz, offering wedding odds for fans of both Swift and Kelce.

Is It Legal To Bet On Entertainment Odds?

While federal law does not prohibit betting on entertainment odds, celebrity wedding odds, or wagering online with licensed sportsbooks, individual states regulate which types of bets can be accepted by domestic operators. These regulations, however, do not extend to offshore sportsbooks operating outside U.S. jurisdiction.

Several states have attempted to limit access to offshore betting platforms by issuing cease-and-desist orders, though compliance has been limited due to the international nature of these sites. Importantly, no state has enacted laws that penalize residents for placing bets online with offshore operators.

With that being said, some states have laws that prohibit their state-licensed establishments from offering odds on college sports, entertainment, and in-state sporting events. Therefore, if you live in one of those states that forbid entertainment gambling, offshore sportsbooks are the only option that doesn’t include travel expenses.

At UF CJC Weimer Hall, he learned from some of the world’s top professors — including Pulitzer Prize winners and jurors — in journalism, public relations, marketing, and multimedia. Alongside his passion for writing, Jacob has in-depth knowledge and understanding of all sports and esports and would wager that few know more than him, especially when it comes to his two favorites: NFL and college football. And because sports and betting go together like peanut butter and jelly, he chose to bake (and make) some bread by joining the team at SportsBetting.Legal in 2018. Today, you’ll catch Jacob betting, watching, and writing regularly on sports happening all around the world in addition to covering the legislation that’s currently in the works across the United States. When he isn’t working or watching his favorite sports teams disappoint him by not winning it all every year, you’ll most likely find him immersed in any number of video games, such as Borderlands, Dark Souls, The Witcher, or pretty much any competitive multiplayer game not named Fortnite.
